Chris McDaniel, a country and gospel singer originally from the Vero Beach / Fort Pierce, Florida area, was born in 1975 with music already running through his veins. Growing up, he drew inspiration from his childhood hero, Elvis Presley, whose voice and presence planted the dream of becoming an artist himself. That dream first took shape in 1983, when eight-year-old Chris stepped onto the stage at the Lawnwood Elementary School talent show. It was the first taste of the stage, and it set the course for a lifelong journey in music.
After graduating from Vero Beach Senior High, Chris threw himself into the Florida music scene. He performed at venues across the state, gaining experience while working alongside his uncle, Art Durden, leader of the band The Art Durden Review. Those nights on stage with his uncle’s group gave him confidence and stagecraft, while his father—who worked in the boating industry—instilled in him creativity, resilience, and the drive to pursue his dreams no matter the odds.
By the early 2000s, Chris’s path led him to a breakthrough collaboration with Eric Horner, known for his work with Lee Greenwood. Together they produced some of Chris’s biggest early recordings, including Imagine Me and I Keep Telling You Heart. In 2003, Chris achieved one of the defining milestones of his career when he opened for Lee Greenwood in front of a crowd of 10,000 people, a moment that affirmed he was ready for the big stage.
In 2005, Chris moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to continue building his career and strengthen his ties to Nashville. Working closely with Lee Bogan, he honed his sound while also sharing stages with renowned artists such as Ronnie McDowell and T. Graham Brown. Each experience added to his craft and broadened his reach as both a performer and songwriter.
Chris’s dedication to music was steady and unshakable. In 2017, he recorded A Man Like Me, produced by Stacy Hogan, which quickly became a fan favorite for its heartfelt lyrics and honesty. That momentum carried him into a new era in 2022, when he partnered with Starvista Music. The collaboration led to the release of two gospel singles in March 2023—Don’t Give Up On Me Jesus and Give ’Em Grace.
Those singles built toward his first official gospel album, released in 2024. Produced by Lee Bogan and distributed worldwide by Starvista, the album marked a new chapter in Chris’s career. It brought together everything he had lived and learned—from the Elvis-inspired boyhood performances to the Florida honky-tonks, the Nashville stages, and the years of writing and recording—into a body of work that reflects his faith, his artistry, and his heartfelt devotion to gospel music.
Today, Chris McDaniel continues to share his story through song. Whether it’s a country ballad or a gospel anthem, he sings with the same sincerity he carried onto that elementary school stage in 1983. His journey proves that music rooted in faith, family, and passion can reach across generations, connecting hearts wherever the song is heard.
